It’s almost April, which means for you moms, graduation is speeding toward you almost faster than you can comprehend. Not only graduation, but everything that will follow.

First – savor every moment of this. Document these months in any way you can think of. Photos, videos, journal … it will mean so much to you to be able to go back and connect in with what you were feeling as you approach the inevitable launching of your kid(s). I wish I had done more of that.

Second – invest some time & energy into thinking about what is ahead for you. Yes – you! I know you’ve been focused on making all the things happen for your kiddo, preparing them for what’s coming next for them.  

What about what’s coming next for you? You’re standing at the edge of a new horizon. Literally. How’s the view? What do you see? What if you take one small step and open the door to survey the panorama? There are as many views and opinions about how this next part of your life is going to unfold as there are women who are empty nesters. There are so many possibilities out there waiting for you!

What an exciting time this is. It’s full of unknowns which can bring up some challenges, and that means in addition to looking out, it’s a great time to look in. Pause. Be still. Listen. You’ll find some amazing answers to the question of what’s next for you.
