Let’s talk about this for a minute. The Empty Nest Chapter in life can be … 20 years (maybe more) for some of us. Your retirement chapter is not going to be here for awhile. Where you are right now, is a big, wide open wonderful space full of adventure and possibility, depending on your perspective.
What is your perspective? Is your glass half empty or half full? Have you prepared for this moment? Do you wonder why nobody ever talked to you about this? And now you’re here and – holy smokes – would you be feeling differently right about now if you had prepared?
What do I mean by prepare? Think about this – right now you may be feeling like everything that gives your life meaning is going to be walking out the door in September. You knew who you were as a mom. Do you know who you are now? Do you know what you want these next 20 years to look like? To feel like?
I know – I ask a lot of questions. The questions will help bring some clarity for you while you are navigating through this transition. Whether you’ve been following me for awhile, or are new here, it’s something I talk about a lot. Why? Because in real life I AM an empty nest mom. In real life it’s what I DO. I coach moms on how to prepare and thrive in Empty Nest life. Moms like you. And me.
It’s work that’s deeply personal for me. I love this work, and the women I work with! We arrive at this chapter in our lives without much thought about what it’s going to be like. No intentional preparation. No proactive choices.
