Being Brave

Being Brave. It’s something we moms have had to do a lot of while helping those little humans in our life grow up. And now they’re out the door and you’re sitting in the middle of this quiet, still space, trying to navigate your way through it.

Your Mom Job, the one you’ve excelled at over the last 18 years, the one you know so well, your comfort zone, has just been redefined because your kid has started a new adventure in their life. It was expected, anticipated, and celebrated.

What wasn’t anticipated is what YOU are experiencing. So here you are. What are you going to do?

First – take the time you need to feel & notice everything you want to. Everyone has their own pace for that and I’ll be the first to remind you that you’re doing just fine. There is no right way.

The next thing you’re going to notice is an urge to start creating some momentum. It goes without saying that you can’t go back to what was, which leaves you with a couple of other options:

You can:

Stay where you are. Step off the moving train of life.

Be unwilling to step into anything new because it will require discomfort and just feels … hard.

Wait for the clock to tick down. You know … stall.

Wait for grandkids, so you can return to that comfort zone of the familiar being Mom.

Wait to retire. (Hello – that could easily be 20 years!!)

OR

You can:

Be brave. Seize this moment, this opportunity to create an entirely new definition of who you are. Who you want to be. You can choose to live your life in a way you hadn’t had the band width until now to even think about.

Be brave. Stand up and say – this – right now – is MY time. Expand. Show up and create the life you want to live.

If you’re ready to step into being brave, ready to redefine what’s possible in your life, give me a shout. Helping clients create the life they want is what I do. Working with a coach is a tool you can choose for yourself – and I hope you will. Be Brave. It’s your turn to soar!

Cheering you on!

xx Jean

P.S. I’m just going to add – letting your kids see how you step into bravery and create the life you want is THE BEST GIFT you can possibly give them. Make them proud.
